Nilambur Karthik is a renowned singer, music teacher, and music director. He received his bachelors (Gana Bhooshanam) in Music from Chembai College of Music. He went on to receive his Masters (Gana Praveen) in Music from Sri Swathi Thirunal College of Music. He sung in over 50 Malayalam films before leaving the film industry to pursue his passion for teaching music. He taught Music at a highschool in Kerala for five years before moving to New York. In 1989, he opened his own music school known as S-Sangeethalaya where he continues to offer classical singing and/or keyboard lessons for students of all ages.
